MANSFIELD Town has released a statement confirming that 'terms have been agreed' with Colin Hancock for a takeover - but the deal is yet to be signed.
The statement, released this afternoon on the club's website, read as follows:

"MTFC is pleased to confirm recent announcements that heads of term have been agreed in principle, but not yet signed, between Mr Keith Haslam & Dr Colin Hancock for Dr Hancock to acquire the majority shareholding in the club currently held by Stags Limited. It has, and continues to be, the policy of the club not to comment until matters are finalised and all efforts are being made to conclude matters as soon as practicable.

"All at the club sincerely hope that this announcement will, finally, bring to an end the discord which has plagued the club for a considerable time and that the supporters, the business community and the media will unite in their support of the club as we attempt to bounce back to the Football League at the first attempt.

"Further announcements will be made as appropriate but, in the mean-time, no further statements will be made by any of the parties involved."

I'm sorry Chad but why do you have to spoil a perfectly good website by putting pictures of that loser on it ?

What a shame. Hancock always came across as having enough sense to know not to shoot his mouth off until the deal was in the bag. Now he's exposed, he's put himself in the same no-win situation as Derry, Batchelor, et al: Haslam will spend the next few months running circles around him, the fans, the Chad, and any other sorry soul who still has any kind of interest in the club. Eventually Hancock will give up, taking what little dignity and credibility he has left with him.

This is nice to hear, Booth actually promised us a statement and he delivered, but he did say on Sunday, and the statement came out on Monday so I still want him gone.

Hancock, please sign the contract ASAP and get the season tickets sorted out. Also I heard on the BBC Nottingham radio that he is considering a new manager. My suggestion is to get John Barnes, he did have some experience with Celtic and he did a pretty good job there. He is also an ex Liverpool player so we might be able to get some players from Liverpool on loan. He does want to be a manager again and had been contacting League One sides but they all have been rejected.

So Come on The Stags!

The moment Dr Hancock owns MTFC I will be back in the queue for my season ticket along with my dad and my son. We will make our £100 donations to the newly formed Supporters Trust and support the club in every way we can to rebuild and get back into the Football League. Until Haslam and Booth have BOTH gone for GOOD we will not be handing over a penny. As per the previous comment - CHAD Why the Haslam photo? It just adds insult to injury!
