ADMISSION prices will be reduced for the Stags' last two home matches of the season - against Shrewsbury this Saturday and Rotherham the following weekend - if you a buy a ticket covering both games.
Fans are being offered the chance to make a £10 saving (adult) in the South Stand, £8 West Stand Upper and £7 West Stand Lower over the two games by pre-purchasing tickets for both matches - in a bid to 'fill the Mill' for the vital relegation games.

There will be a pro-rata saving for OAPs, U16s and juniors - and the best saving will be as high as 26%.

Buying an adult ticket will cost £26 (£25 West Stand lower) and guarantee admission to both matches. OAPs will be charged £16.

The Stags desperately need three points from both matches, their last two home games of the season, as they fight relegation from the Football League - and now it is hoped a full Field Mill will cheer the players onto victory.

Promotional ticket prices (entry to both home matches) are:

South Stand: £26 (adult); £16 (OAP); £16 (students); £11 (U16s)

West Stand – Upper: £26 (adult); £16 (OAP); £12 (students)

West Stand - Lower: £25 (adult); £16 (OAP); £16 (students); £11 (U16s)

That means the savings will be:

South Stand: £10 (adult); £4 (OAP); £4 (students); £3 (U16s)

West Stand Upper: £8 (adult); £5 (OAP); £4 (students)

West Stand Lower: £7 (adult); £4 (OAP); £4 (students); £3 (U16s)

There will be no SSA discounts in addition to these prices.

These tickets must be pre-purchased at the Field Mill ticket office in advance of this Saturday's game at home to Shrewsbury.

The ticket office is open from Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. These hours will be extended on Thursday, when the box office will be open until 6.45pm.

However, the club will not be reducing the admission to £10 per match, as many supporters had wanted - and there will be no saving for fans who can only go to one of the two matches.

And Chad can report that the club had approached fans group the Stags Supporters Association (SSA), wanting it to spend £12,000 to buy all the 1,200 seats in the Andrew Saunders Stand at £10 each - and then sell the tickets themselves.

But the SSA rejected the approach. It is thought supporters feel the club should stand the cost of any discount - though it could actually increase revenue if enough fans go to the matches - rather than a supporters group.

The ticket price reduction follows the success of the recent home match against Wrexham - when a reduced admission led to a higher attendance (3,435), a great atmosphere and a win.

Many fans feel that positive atmosphere generated by the larger numbers against Wrexham played a part in the club ending a terrible run of 11 home games without a win.

Admission to the Wrexham match was just £10 for adults (only £5 with a voucher from the previous home match) with further reductions for concessions.

It led to around 600 more home fans (around 2,800) going to Field Mill than the previous match, against Grimsby (2,200 home fans) - where that attendance figure was inflated by the Wrexham voucher offer.

The previous home match to that - against Hereford - saw just 1,401 home supporters through the turnstiles.

So it could be argued that the reduced admission brought an extra 800 home fans to the Wrexham match - and that is why fans wanted those prices to be repeated.

Fair play for doing something, its not quite the same effort we've seen at other clubs but at least they've done something.

I find the bit about the SSA being offered to by the tickets, laughable... Well done the SSA for telling the club where to shuve this idea. Lets hope next season, if there is no new owner, you'll be equally dismissive of any requests to pay for training facilities, fat lot of good they've done this year!!!

I agree with delboy, its time the boycotters stop hiding behind there "haslam out" excuses and put there hand in the pockets and came out supporting the town.

Its far to easy to stay home, blame haslam and not do your bit... If you claim to be a boycotting "fan" please come to the last two home games and help the team.

Andrew Saunders Stand?? is this Quarry Lane ? have I missed something?
Unfortunately I can't imagine the savings will generate a great deal of extra interest - hopefully the publicity will encourage a few, but if I didn't have a season ticket I would be taking it one match at a time.... sorry.

Poorly thought out offer.Pre-purchasing tickets for a league game is never a good idea.Should have been kids for a quid when accompanied by an adult. We,ll not fill the Mill on Saturday.2,500 at best!!!!

Pathetic Mansfield Town! Pathetic Stephen Booth! Macclesfield do kids for free all season. Other clubs do kids for a quid regularly. It should have a tenner on the gate, simple as that.

Typical of Stags shoddy marketing. It's as if they don't want fans to take up the offer so the KH can point to poor gates as an excuse for making yet more cuts in the summer. Like he ever needs an excuse.

Its blatantly obvious why they have done this "buy both in advance" - because if we were to lose this saturday v shrewbury, they know no-one will be bothered about the Rotherham game, the week after!
Lose this saturday and we're almost gone, so rather than lose a penny, they want the cash up front.
Good business sense but I suspect no more than 3,000 for the Shrews game this weekend.
Talk about "fill the Mill" - more like "fill Haslam's pockets" again!

Now then, let me see, nobody can talk about any sort of sale of the club until after the last home game.........there is now a discount to try and fill the place,,,,,and when you go into the main stand and pay cash............you still don't get any form of receipt (as happened to me to my suprise at the last home game, funny how that can work really, but I'm sure it is a tried and tested system)......am I missing something, or is it just me?
