MARTIN McIntosh will begin his comeback from injury in a friendly behind-closed-doors reserve game with neighbours Chesterfield tomorrow (Friday, noon).

The experienced central defender has been out since 22nd September when he limped off with a hamstring strain at Accrington.

No venue has yet been confirmed for tomorrow's game. But it will also give a chance to get a full match under their belts for John McAliskey, Jon D'Laryea and Gareth Jelleyman, who have all been sidelined recently.

And there was more good news on the injury front with Nathan Arnold and Chris Wood set to play some part in the game.

Striker Rory Boulding may not be involved with his ankle injury but, if not, is still expected to be all right by the time Stags return to action against Rochdale a week on Saturday.

Alex John-Baptiste is back in tomorrow to do some light training after resting up his back strain and is also thought to be on course to play against Rochdale.

That leaves only striker Simon Brown (hamstring) still struggling and he will be at least another fortnight which means it is 50-50 whether or not he will be ready for the FA Cup trip to Harrogate Railway.

Stags are still waiting for a new date for the visit of Wrexham which has been postponed this Saturday due to the Welsh international call-ups for the Red Dragons.

"I want to break things up a bit with no game this weekend," said boss Billy Dearden.

"I am giving a lot of the lads Saturday, Sunday and Monday off and then we will really get cracking on Tuesday.

"The break at least gives us chance to get players fit who are injured."
