Jelleyman ruled out of crunch clash

GARETH Jelleyman on Wednesday conceded defeat in his battle to be fit for Mansfield Town's crunch relegation clash at home to Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.
The left back injured his Achilles' tendon in the defeat at Stockport last week and, despite wanting to 'give it a go' at Macclesfield on Saturday, lasted only 20 minutes before limping off again.
Jelleyman has been undergoing intensive treatment since then, but the club have admitted today that he won't make it in time to face the Shrews.
That will mean either Keith Briggs or Dan Martin will have to fill in at left full back.
However, there was brighter news on the other injured duo Mickey Boulding (knee) and Carl Muggleton (bruised thumb), with both improving quickly and in with a chance of making the squad.
Stags have three games to make up a four-point gap and pull off their 'Great Escape'.
But defeat on Saturday could see Stags relegated if other results went against them.
