STAGS were given a big boost ahead of the visit of Notts County when four players were declared fit.
And two others could be back on the bench.

Sean McAllister has shaken off a virus and Dan Martin, Lee Bell and Jake Buxton are all back in training after starting the week on the treatment table.

And the recently weak bench could see Jon D'Laryea and Gareth Jelleyman also eased back into the picture after longer term problems.

However, it seems there will be no brand new faces again for Mansfield for Saturday's local derby.

But manager Billy Dearden is happy to bide his time and bring in the ones he really wants.

"I was hopeful again this week but things haven't materialised and I don't see anything happening before Saturday now," he said.

"I have my eyes on two or three targets and it is not for the want of trying that I haven't been able to get them in yet.

"It is just one of those things and there is no panic.

"I still want to bring in a couple that I have had my sights since a couple of weeks ago and will be looking to do that in the near future.

"Let's get through this weekend and see what we need to add next week.

Big striker John McAliskey will again miss out with a groin strain though does have a chance of being back next weekend.
