THE Stags might be struggling at the foot of the Football League, but FA Cup fever is taking off among the fans.
Hundreds queued for their tickets after Saturday's defeat by Darlington and more were at Field Mill on the rain on Sunday morning to get their place in the ground for next weekend's visit of Premiership Middlesbrough.

More than 1,000 extra home fans went to the Mill for the Darlington match, which the Stags lost 1-0, lured by a voucher guaranteeing entry to the FA Cup Fourth Round tie.

The attendance of 3,344 included an extra 1,000plus home fans from the previous home match.

The Cup build-up will take-off this week, with the FA Cup visiting the Stags on Wednesday.

The tie is being televised live on BBC 1's Match Of The Day, kick-off 12.30pm - the second time tthe BBC have chosen the Stags as their live match in the Cup this season, following the win at Harrogate Railway.

The unexpected cup run to the Fourth Round is expected to have made the club around £500,000.

Tickets will go on sale to Stags Supporters Association (SSA) members on Monday and then on general sale on Tuesday - click here for details.

Can someone explain to me (Mr Booth maybe) why the chief executive cannot invest in the future of the club (even in a small way) by offering contracts which attract footballers with some talent (Although admittedly players already rejected by clubs we used to compete with). As the article above says we have reportedly made £500k from the FA Cup. Some of that was money that not available when Mr Booth got involved. What was he going to do before the extra cash became available. Accept relegation? How much of this extra money is ultimately going to end up in Keith Haslam's pocket? Is this not all about Mr Haslam's continued plans to asset strip by proxy? He'll only go when we're out of the FA Cup, any good players have been sold on and there's nothing left but the prospect of conference football. How on earth can anyone criticise Billy Dearden in these circumstances? Him staying on as manager is our final hope. A change of manager now would be disaster.

I remember James Derry saying he was there when Mr Booth said to Billy Dearden that the money from the cup run would go to Mr Dearden. Only this week Mr Booth or is that Mr Haslam asked the Stags Supporters Association to pay for the water machine to ensure the Darlington match would go ahead.

Where is the money from the FA Cup going ?

Having attended saturday's match and collecting an FA cup voucher i turned up at the Mill at 2:55 to find the ground closed? A steward who was locking the gates explained that they had been there for 6 hours and that was long enough to be there, on being asked to check his watch it was only 5 minutes to 3, though all the staff had departed.I was then informed that i was not the only one to be turned away, and indeed 2 other stags fans arrived wanting to purchase tickets; still not 3:00 pm, and they too were turned away.I pointed out that this was the only time i could visit the mill prior to saturdays match, due to work commitments and the reason why i had attended the Darlo match, but to no avail. I will not be attending on saturday and doubt that i will bother again this season, this after being a season ticket holder for 10 years prior to this season. If the staff at Field Mill can't be bothered and appear to lack commitment why should the paying customer be interested? This however does not really surprise me, if there is no leadership and motivation what else should we expect of the paid staff?
You missed a minimum of £51 whilst i was turned away, can MTFC afford to turn money away?
