MANSFIELD Town's venture into the Blue Square Premier is to be highlighted on live TV early in the season.
For three of their matches in September and october have been selected by Setanta for live coverage - though all are away games.

Their first appearance will be on Tuesday 2nd September when the TV cameras follow Stags manager Billy McEwan's return to York - his last club before coming to Field Mill.

Exactly a month later on 2nd October, the trip to Stevenage will be screened, followed by the local derby at Burton Albion, now rearranged from Saturday 11th to Monday 13th October.

The Stags will receive £2,000 for each of their TV appearances.

For those fans not going to the games, the club is opening up the X Bar at Field Mill which will be showing the Setanta coverage. For a £5 admission fans will get a pie, peas and a pint (or any drink of their choice), plus the chance to watch the game on TV.

Only 2k per game, how much does the home team get? Hopefully more than 2k or I would not have thought it worth their while what with the people stopping in to watch on TV.

They ought to have picked the games at Torquay,Weymouth & Ebbsfleet!!!!...Burton,York & Stevenage are our what you could call a "Local Derby",or the nearest we`ll get to a "Local" derby.

Suppose it will probably be three televised games more than Notts or Spires get!!!!!!
