NEW Stags chairman Andy Perry was delighted with the first game at Field Mill under the new regime on Saturday.
Mansfield Town were pipped 3-2 by Championship neighbours Derby County in an entertaining game which attracted 4,002 fans to the spruced up ground.

And, despite the odd teething problem, most went home very happy with what they had seen on and off the field.

"I was delighted with how the day went," Perry told Chad on Monday morning.

"I walked around the ground and spoke to fans in the supporters' bar and in the stadium. Everybody looked very happy, if a little hot.

"It was amazing support for a friendly and proves what we have always thought – we definitely have the best fans in football.

"I was pleased with the performance on the pitch against a good Derby side and we came off there with our heads held high.

"I always appreciate feedback via e-mail, text and verbal and I am aware of one or two issues such as the lack of cold drinks in the West Stand and a few points raised by our corporate clients.

"We will be looking to address these. We have an open door policy for people to make constructive comments and we will endeavour to sort out these teething problems.

"I now see things from a chairman's position and a friendly it is not just about the team having a good work out but also how the whole 'MTFC family' perform behind the scenes as well."

There is more action at Field Mill tonight as Billy McEwan's trialists get another chance to shine against Championship side Sheffield United (7.45pm).

Pretty grim news that our LOCAL radio station will not be doing away commentary this season and the only live commentary is via computer. What about all those folks who have to WORK some Saturdays. At least we might be able to get up to date score flashes on BBC Nottingham, and not have to wait for 103.2 to finish the latest record from 50cent or whatever. For goodness sake Unibond Boston Utd get more coverage on BBC Lincs. A state of affairs that smacks of Non League thru and thru.

Im talking about away games. No radio commentary on away games for a club of our size is unacceptable. Shame on you 103.2. Call yourselves the only station for local sport DONT MAKE ME LAUGH.
