FORMER Mansfield Town assistant manager John Gannon will be in charge of rivals Notts County when they come to Field Mill on Saturday for the big local derby.
Former Wimbledon and Sheffield United midfielder Gannon left Stags in acrimonious circumstances after the sacking of boss Keith Curle and has been number two at Meadow Lane in recent times.

But today the Magpies' board made a shock decision to sack under-fire manager Steve Thompson after three defeats and have told Gannon he will be at the helm on Saturday.
