MANSFIELD Town have confirmed Chad's exclusive story on Saturday that keeper Paddy Gamble has returned to Nottingham Forest.
The Stags have thanked the 20-year-old for his five months at Field Mill, during which he made 28 appearances.

  • Stags won't be taking a Gamble on keeper

Chad first reported over the weekend that the youngster would not be staying at the Stags for the rest of the season, even though he wanted to extend his loan.

Now new manager David Holdsworth is hoping to have two new goalkeepers at the Mill by the time Altrincham visit on Saturday.

"I am hoping it's 'buy one get one free'," he smiled.

"I have let Paddy Gamble go back to Forest and it is now a priority to get two in by the weekend which we will do with a bit of luck.

"I would like to thank Forest for allowing him to come here, but I want to bring in someone with a bit more experience."

Young keeper Luke Herriott is currently off ill, while Jason White continues his prolonged comeback after a summer knee operation.

Holdsworth added: "I have spoken to Jason White. He is in the last few months of his contract and he needs to get himself fit.

"He may be allowed to go out on loan to get some games."

Reg is starting well, with all the right noises coming from the Mill.

Come Saturday, hopefully his positiveness will have got out to the troops and supporters, with a win to build up even more hype. Then onwards and upwards.
