D'Laryea back in a Stags shirt at last

JON D'Laryea pulled on a Mansfield Town shirt for the first time in seven months this afternoon as he completed 65 minutes of a reserve friendly against Crewe Alexandra at Field Mill.
But manager Billy Dearden stressed it was only a first step and he would not push the midfield ace back too soon, though D'Laryea will travel to Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.
"Jon came through 65 minutes and Gareth Jelleyman through 75 which was pleasing," said Dearden.
"Hopefully there will be no reaction and both are okay.
"It was great to see Jon out there in a Stags shirt and he did very well to say it was his first game since March.
"But fans have to understand it was his first football for over seven months and playing 65 minutes minutes today is very different to being on the bench at Shrewsbury and possibly being forced on after 15 minutes when you are not fully ready.
"It is no good throwing him back in for the sake of it, although he will be part of the 17 who go to Shrewsbury.
"And, if injuries allow, I will try to fix up another midweek friendly next week."
For the record Stags lost a good contest with Crewe 2-1, Rory Boulding with their goal.
"It was a good game and we got exactly what we wanted out of it," added Dearden.
