"We have a young squad and sometimes confidence can go," he said.
"The game on Saturday gave us a bit of belief that we are not that bad and we can get out of this situation.
"There were a lot of question marks about today's game after Saturday. Can you turn it on again today? Well we have done it.
"That was a massive win for us and the first time this season we have not played well but actually won the game.
"To win away from home and to win here is a real boost for us - and to do it is the dying minutes was even better.
"It was difficult because of Saturday. Our pitch is in a lot better state and this was quite bobbly.
"We couldn't get hold of the ball and get our passing going which was pretty frustrating in the first half.
"At half-time we came in and said we were not playing well but were still in the game so let's go out and win it, even if we were rubbish.
"We kept going and I thought the back four played really well.
"I wasn't sure about the penalty but we kept plugging away. It was nice to score but it's all about the team performance."
