BILLY McEwan has a goalkeeper, two defenders and a midfield player on his shopping list at the moment as he seeks to strengthen his squad.
Stags have made a good start, taking seven of the first possible nine points.

But he is aware that the squad is far from complete and said: "I know that we are still short.

"The transfer window is on 31st of the month but I can always use the loan system after that. I know whre the players are and I have got to go and get them.

"I am still looking for a goalkeeper, a couple of defenders and possibly a midfielder. I feel we are okay up front at the moment."

One player who won't be joining him is former Halifax defender Adam Quin who had been training with Stags but opted to join BSP rivals Crawley.

"We had been helping Adam get fit here so I was disappointed to get a call from him to say he was off to join Crawley before we had even talked about finance.

"But they had made him a huge offer which I wouldn't have given him, even if he was fit.

"They can pay much bigger money than we can so I won't lose any sleep over it."

How long have we got Paddy Gamble for, Is it 6 months or a season long loan?

I rated Gamble during the Histon match. Catching everything that came his way.

Crawley town are as big as Alfreton????all i can say is Haslams rental must be as high as everyone thought it would be.Lets see local buisness and fans get behind the team to generate funds and quick.£5 for kids is best.

does anybody know when the details of the take over will be given to us. the new owners have been very quiet on that, it makes me wonder if they are hiding certain things. however i am pleased with how they engage the fans so far.

id love to know those details aswell i trust the new owners but i think that would persuade a few more sceptics to come back if they know all the ins and outs of the deal

The money from Bap Mull Daws etc all went into Sheik-at-Ahlm's pocket Adam. MTFC will see none of that I'm afraid. Thought you would have realised that one.

Why the need to know the details of the takeover? Its already happened thank god. The only purpose this would serve to you is for you to then pick out information from the deal and then criticise the deal. Can't you just be thankful that MTFC are still around so that we can talk about the football side of things for a change. If I/you had just brought a company, would you lay the T&C's of the deal open to the public, don't think so. Come on benno, adamr I prefer your comments when you talk football.

Any of you lads going to Barrow on Saturday, I will be there, which will the first time I have seen Mansfield play since the late 70's. Even though my now home club Kendal are at home to Eastwood Town. It will not be an easy game Barrow are well supported and are on a great run of form coming from the relegation zone in BS North last Christmas to promotion in May
