TWO-GOAL derby day hero Micky Boulding gave a revealing interview to Chad.co.uk after his seventh and eighth goals of the season clinched only Mansfield Town FC's second win of the season
The striker, top of Division II's goalscoring charts with eight goals despite the Stags languishing at the bottom of the Football League, spoke about the pain footballers feel at losing matches and the fact that the fans can make a difference at Field Mill.

Boulding said: "When you lose games the fans are devastated, but the players are devastated, too. You can't sleep . . . it really does hurt them. Winning means everything to us, it is a hard pill to swallow when you lose.

"The fans here are great, I don't think they realise the role they can play, that when they get behind the team it really gives you a lift."

Boulding struck two goals in four second half minutes to defeat neighbours Notts County - click here for match report.

On the penalty, he said: "I practise most days in a training, I have a routine and I knew what to do. For the second goal it was defence-splitting ball from 'Browny'."
