STAGS defender Johnny Mullins bemoaned his side's luck after a 10th defeat in 11 matches at Field Mill, beaten 2-1 by Grimsby.
The Mariners hit the Stags with a classic 'smash and grab' raid, with the full back twice unlucky to see efforts cleared off the line via the bar in one remarkable goalmouth sracmble.

That left the Stags deep in relegation trouble, but the full back tried to remain positive.

"When you are down things don't go for you, but if we win our fair share of the remaining games we will be fine," he said.

well said Adam - MOM again and surely a better bet as captain than our current holder, and those who have been given it at times this season

The few games mullins has taken over as captain have shown he is a good leader, there is also candidates like dawson and hamshaw and when wainright and horlock settle in which wont take to long with their experience one of them could be a good captain as i watched them both commanding the team when they came on which is a good thing.

Luck does even itself out over a season, so with all the bad luck we're having we should be ok. Seriously, it's the same old story after the end of each game. Ok, players/management are never going to come out and say 'yeah, we're going down' and have to believe in themselves - but really, it's getting like a stuck record. At the end of the day it's about putting the ball in the ball of the net more times than the opposition - end of!! rant over
