STAGS striker John McAliskey has revealed that he did not expect to play a part in the massive 2-0 Boxing Day win over Peterborough.
He said: "I got thrown in at the deep end . . . I didn't know I was playing until just before the kick-off.

"I would like to get a goal but at least I played a part in Micky's first goal.

"It was a massive win for us."

Good game by the big lad I thought considering he is so short on match practice and fitness. he gave their defenders something to think about, even if he doesn't win every header or is that strong on the ball. At this level a big man alongside a quicker smaller player, like Micky B, has to be the way forward.
