MANSFIELD Town's new owner Andy Perry says his consortium's takeover of the Stags is 'fantastic'.
On Friday morning he celebrated the buyout of Mansfield Town FC the previous evening, saying: "I am absolutely ecstatic.

"It has been a long time coming personally I suppose with a couple of failed bids.

"Naivety in the past from myself I suppose . . . but others have been and gone and it gave me an opportunity. And this time I have been successful."

And he added that he had two diehard Stags fans with him on board - co-owners Andy Saunders and Steve Middleton - to take the club forward.

"It is an equal partnership and we will have fans forums. It will not be just one person running the show."

He added that season tickets would be on sale this weekend at an open weekend at Field Mill.

And he echoed the words of Mansfield mayor Tony Egginton to Chad on Thursday evening, saying he wanted to make the Stags a community club.
