South Notts League: Dismal weather leads to local wash-out

Have your say

THE fixtures of local clubs playing in the South Notts Cricket League were hit by the dismal weekend weather.

In Division A, Southwell’s game at Notts Unity Casuals was called off, as were all other matches except Rolls Royce Leisure versus HG Carrington Caribs, which Rolls Royce won convincingly.

In Division C, both Newstead Abbey and Village’s match at Radcliffe on Trent II and Kirkby Portland’s game at home to Wollaton II were also victims of the heavy rain.

Zero points are awarded to teams in this league in the case of a game being called off because of the weather.

This weekend, weather permitting, Southwell take on bottom-of-the-table Attenborough at home.

Meanwhile, in Division C, Newstead are due to play high-flying Ashfield district rivals Kirkby Portland, who currently sit in second place.
