Second on debut for Kirkby’s Konrad
Taporsnap Kirkby sent one of its junior fighters Konrad Smith (9), a pupil at Morven Park Primary school, to the Werrington Sports Centre in Peterborough to compete in his first ever grappling competition in the Peterborough Championship Series for the WFMAA (United Family Martial Arts Association).
Konrad eventually finished second in a hard-fought final against an older and heavier opponent.
Konrad trains at Taporsnap Kirkby, which is at Peak Physique gym on Kingsway, Kirkby, and the junior squad train on a Saturday morning from 10am.
