Raceline: Tip of the Day 23rd November 2012

No excuses for a desperately disappointing performance by yesterday’s selection. Today, the focus is on a fascinating card, laced with quality, at Haydock.

Friday 23rd November

FOURJACKS

Haydock 3.05 WIN

With horses from the leading yards of Paul Nicholls, Nicky Henderson, Donald McCain and David Pipe represented in this novice hurdle, I am hopeful of a decent price about Tim Easterby’s improving seven-year-old. I am certain his odds won’t reflect the impressive nature of his victory at Hexham two weeks ago when he spreadeagled a fair field, despite testing conditions. Never out of the first two in six career-runs, the gelded son of Karinga Bay boasts a persuasive mix of speed and stamina, and because he is bred to develop into a staying chaser, today’s switch to the larger fixed-brush hurdles on stamina-sapping ground should not present any problems. He is owned by Grand National-winning businessman Trevor Hemmings, who likes nothing better than a victory here at his local track.

Elsewhere on the card, I strongly fancy the McCain-trained duo SUPER DUTY (1.55) and CLONDAW KAEMPFER (2.30).

THURSDAY: UXIZANDRE 3RD

WEDNESDAY: UXIZANDRE MEETING ABANDONED

TUESDAY: UMADACHAR WON

MONDAY: BROADBACKBOB WON

SUNDAY: VILLAGE VIC UNPLACED

SATURDAY: SIRE COLLONGES 2ND

FRIDAY: EDUARD WON

TIP OF THE DAY SUPPLIED BY SCOOP RACING (RICHARD SILVERWOOD).
