The Mansfield Building Society has announced that for the 30th consecutive year, it will be sponsoring the Mansfield Half Marathon, scheduled for Sunday 26th June.
In announcing the decision, The Mansfield Building Society’s Sales and Marketing Manager, Mike Taylor said: “We have been involved with this flagship event since it began 30 years ago. During that time, it has developed into one of the biggest sporting events in the area, attracting in the region of 1,000 runners of all abilities.
“The 2011 race has again been designated a UKA/BARR Gold Standard event which illustrates just what an important event it is on the athletics calendar.”
This year’s event is also co-sponsored by Howarth Timber and Building Supplies and Availablecar.com
Mansfield Half Marathon Committee Chairman, Steve Shatwell, added: “The event starts and finishes in the scenic surroundings of Berry Hill Park for which we are very grateful to the trustees of Berry Hill Welfare Centre. To celebrate the 30th running we have re-designed the course to ensure that there will be little disruption to local motorists on the day.
“It attracts athletes of all abilities from far and wide and will again be preceded by a fun run open to local youngsters who will be raising funds for various local charities and schools. Full details including race entry forms are available at www.mansfieldhalf.co.uk.”
