Every pound Derbyshire Cricket County Club raises really does make a difference as the majority goes towards investment in players and the coaching budget.
So when e-commerce web design and on-line marketing specialists Purpose Media showed interest in how the could help raise their profile, Derbyshire chief executive Simon Storey was quick to grasp the opportunity to get this dynamic young business onboard.
Founded in 2009 by Matt Wheatcroft, Tim Lenton and Rob Marshall, Purpose Media is an award-winning agency, located in modern offices near junction 28 in South Normanton.
It has grown to a turnover of £500,000 and now employs 13 staff.
With further expansion plans on the cards that include a move to even bigger offices and an increase in turnover to £2m by 2015, the company is keen to raise its profile and enter key strategic partnerships.
Simon Storey said: “Encouraging local businesses to get involved in through sponsorship is vital to our future success. Deals like this are mutually beneficial.
“We get the funds to invest in the club and the sponsor benefits from a comprehensive range of benefits which will help them raise their profile and meet like-minded business people at our lively 1870 Business Club events.”
Purpose Media managing director, Matt Wheatcroft added: “We have already benefited in that we have been able to partner with another club sponsor, 3aaa, who are helping us recruit 10 apprentices over the next 12 months.
“I met them at one of the many networking events the Club organises and I am confident our sponsorship will help us meet our overall marketing objectives.”
“The sponsorship package agreed includes a prominent pitch side advertising board, social media profile, membership of the 1870 Business Club, attendance at networking events and programme advertising.”
