Sutton Swimming Club yet again came away with flying colours at the Nottinghamshire County Championships.
Head coach Gren Greaves guided the team to top honours with Emily James winning the girls’ 9yr catagory, closely followed by Mia Fergie, who finished fourth.
In the girls’ 11yr catagory Becky Quinton put in a super display to finish eighth while in the girls’ 12yr catagory Sarah Baird finished fifth, putting up a good fight against the national champion.
In the boys’ team nine-year-old Jim Fergie finished a fantastic eighth while Lewis Potter finished 10th in the boys’ 10yr catagory.
Russ Golubs finished a stunning fifth in the boys’ 11yrs category, collecting a Midland time along the way.
He was followed closely by Jake Hudd, who finished an impressive sixth.
Jim and Mia Fergie also came away with top honours in the butterfly, both becoming county champions.
Sutton also fared well in the relays with the 10yr girls finishing fourth in the medley final and sixth in the free relay.
The 10yrs boys finished sixth in the free relay and fourth in the medley final while the 12yr boys finished a credible sixth in the free relay and fifth in the medley relay.
The 14yr girls had success, finishing fourth in the medlay final and fourth in the freestyle final.
All eyes will now turn to the Midland Championships, where Sutton will be represented by Sarah Baird, with six Midland qualifying times, Emily James, with the 200m breaststroke and Russ Golubs, also with the 200m breaststroke qualifying times.
