MANSFIELD Olympic Gymnastics Club member Leah Waddington shows off her somersaulting skills during the club’s open day last Sunday.
The event marked the first year anniversary of the club’s official opening in its new, larger premises and improved facilities.
Said Vicky Allock, from the club: “We had a brilliant day with a great turn out of people coming along and supporting the club.
“Mayor Tony Egginton came along to the event to show his support too.”
Attractions during the open day included recreational gymnasts and club gymnasts taking part in displays, giving the children’s parents and families an opportunity to see how their child was progressing and learning new skills.
There were a number of stalls too, including a tombola, raffle, bottle and chocolate tombola, cake stalls, a dvd and book stall, leotard sales, hook a duck, gymnastic merchandise stall, craft stall and also a barbecue.
Vicky added: “The weather didn’t dampen spirits and we raised £940 for the club!
“MOGC would like to thank all the parents, coaches and gymnasts for their hard work and effort put into making the day such a success.”
