Nigel overcomes break to take pole position

Sherwood Forest Farm Park Fishery Sunday Open winner Nigel Shipman broke his number six section of his pole and lost a piece in the lake in the first hour, so he had to fish the feeder.

However, casting a scoop feeder with pellets and pellet hook bait tight to the island his luck changed, landing 24 carp to 7lb for a total of 66lb 3oz and picking up £80 to put towards a new section.

In second place John Woodland fished the pole and paste out at 13m for a steady run of small carp to 5lb.

What a difference a week made in the Wednesday Open as. with the carp spawning on a red hot flat calm day, it was a struggle for all.

In top spot Wayne Woodlandfished the pole and paste out at 11m for 15 carp to 8lb while runner-up Jeff Wiseman had a late run of carp to 8lb on the pole and meat fished down the margins.

Sherwood Forest Farm Park Fishery (Wednesday Open, Holmedale Lake, 21st May, 24 fished): 1st Wayne Woodland Sherwood Forest Fishery peg 19, 67-1-0, 2nd Jeff Wiseman Sherwood Forest Fishery peg 21, 59-12-0, 3rd Lee Parker Phil’s Bait & Tackle peg 57, 48-8-0, 4th Mick Langton Sherwood Forest Fishery peg 54, 43-14-0, 5th Sam Kelk Kinky Pellet Club peg 29, 43-7-0, 6th Richard Allen Kinky Pellet Club peg 26, 41-6-0.

Dave Round fished the pole and caster for 30lb of ide and skimmers before turning his attention to the pole and corn fished down the margin, the rest of his weight made up of carp to 6lb as he won the Tuesday Open with 66lb 7oz.
