Medals galore for Sutton Swimming Club at county championships

Even more success was enjoyed by members of the ever-improving Sutton Swimming Club in the second weekend of action in the Nottinghamshire County Championships at the Harvey Hadden pool in Nottingham.

Sutton took their total medals’ tally to a superb 16 golds, 19 silvers and 13 bronzes, with Chloe Quinn leading the way after retaining her 200m junior butterfly title in a personal-best (PB) time of 2.32.02, which was good enough to earn her bronze in the open senior event too. She also bagged three junior silver medals.

Russ Golubs clocked a PB of 1.00.01 to retain his open senior title in the 100m butterfly, while Hollie-Mae Dove made it a clean sweep of junior breaststroke titles by landing the 50m final. Open senior silver medals were won by Chloe Peach and Jim Fergie, and in the individual age-group events, four golds were won by Matthew Woodhall, three by Tom Polley, two by Joshua Leeson and one by Ellis Maison. Sutton also took eight silvers and ten bronzes.
