THE adult section of Mansfield Trialthlon Club turned up in force for the Esendex Last Minute Triathlon held at Southwell.
The lone member from the junior squad, Jordan Boam, took third in category in 1:00:08 while first home for the club was Steve Melhuish in an impressive 59:34.
Hot on their heels were Carl Jordan in 1:00:49, Daniel Wilson in 1:11:16, Sharon Barton (1:15:57), Mark Walker (1:17:35), Michael Bird in 1:23:32 and Katy Wilson in the highly credible time of 1:25:13.
A smaller contingent competed in the Rother Valley sprint triathlon. Chris Holmes finished in 1:20:04, Dave Oakton in 1:28:43 and Bex Wager in 1:35:26.
Closer to home, the Clumber Park 10k made a welcome return to the race calendar and three from the club tried out the new route.
Daniel Wilson completed the course in 49:31, whilst Sharon Barton and Sonia Insley ran home in 54:18 and 59:52 respectively.
The club has over 100 active members participating in triathlons, duathlons, cycle time trials, swimming races and running events.

The cub’s junior section continued their run of podium successes in the latest East Midlands Series races.
At Nottingham Libby Coleman claimed first place in the girls’ Tri Star 2 race in 19:16 to keep alive her hopes of taking the age group series win. In the boys Tri Star 1 Kieran Smith took second in 10:37 and sealed his series win. Matthew Woodhall came second in the boys’ TriStart in 7:10.
At Lincoln, where 18 members turned out, Kieran Smith (TriSar 1) and Libby Coleman (TriStar 2) each took second in their age group races finishing in 15:13 and 20:55 respectively.
