Mansfield fencers ready for international combat

Two members of Mansfield’s TSCA Swords fencing club will be travelling to Poland to take part in the 38th Challenge Wratislavia International Fencing Tournament this week.

This is one of the largest children’s competition in Europe and attracts fencers from all over the world, with ast years’ competition attracting 2,386 individual fencers from 31 countries and 272 clubs.

Over the last year Patrick Carey has been competing in competitions to join the England team that travels to Wroclaw.

He was ranked in a strong fifth place on the English rankings and takes up his place on the team alongside 11 other boys and 12 girls all representing England.

This is Patrick’s second inclusion on the English team for Challenge Wratislavia.

Patryk Sroka is entering the competition as a representative of TSCA Swords having not competed in all of the England qualifying competitions during the year.

He will be joining Patrick in the U15 competition and is crrently Patryk ranked 9 on the England Fencing rankings.
