The Super League Grand Final and Challenge Cup trophies will be on display during Sherwood WolfHunt’s friendly on Saturday.

The club will face Dearne Valley Bulldogs at Debdale Sport Club on Saturday (3pm), with new signings available for selection.

New players will be able to join the club during their annual sign on day on Thursday night at Debdale Sport Club, ahead of the start of the new season on 30th April.

Co-chairman Richard Tempest-Mitchell said the appearance of the rugby league’s most famous trophies would help boost ambition in the junior ranks.

“It’s a brilliant boost for the club. We are an ambassador club for the Leeds Rhinos who have really helped us out,” he said.

“It’s a real big deal to have the trophies in Mansfield and it shows the juniors what they can achieve in the game and what they can win.

“It is important we get the juniors in the area joining the club and hopefully they can go on to play in the Super League.

“Our ambition as a club is to help develop the next generation. Playing summer rugby is a lot of fun and we are hopeful our junior section will really kick on.”

There will be opportunities to have your photo taken with the trophy and WolfHunt players on Saturday.

Sherwood WolfHunt were promoted to the Midland Premier Division last season after winning the Division One Championship.
