Ollerton RUFC travelled to local rivals Woodhouse Giants and just fell short 31-29 in their Midlands 5 League clash.

This was a good close game with Woodhouse pinching the win at the end.

Ollerton started strong as they scored three early tries from Richard Smith, Eric Cranmer and Scott Gretton, two of them converted by Ben Marson.

But they took the foot of the gas and Woodhouse scored two converted tries before the break to leave Ollerton leading 19-14 at half-time.

In the second half Woodhouse used the slope to their advantage and scored two more converted tries.

Ollerton hit back with a try from Stuart Parker plus a conversion and penalty from Marson to take the lead.

But Woodhouse kicked a late penalty to win the game.
