MORE than 500 children from 55 school across the county have taken part in the 2012 Nottinghamshire School Games.
The event, which will feature a summer version on 4th July, saw the children competing in six sports at various venues across the county.
Simon Starr, director of Nottinghamshire Sport said: “The School Games provides an excellent opportunity for all young people to make a positive and active contribution to their school - whether they are sporty or not.
“This could be as a performer in an opening ceremony, as a leader, as an official or as a sports reporter - the School Games can engage everyone.
“We hope this event will be the first of many and that the children not only enjoy the experience, but are inspired to take an interest in the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”
