Jacksdale’s Kyle Ryde had an excellent finish to his first season with the Redbull Rookie Team, with a seventh place finish in the final round of the Moto GP Redbull Roookies Cup at the sweltering Misano circuit, near Rimini, Italy.
This reflected his recent wins within the British Championship, which is something that Kyle will now be putting all his efforts into, as he is only six points behind Championship leader Rob Guiver and, with only three more rounds to go,anything could happen.
With his bike running superbly and his best ever qualifying, Kyle lined up in third on the front row of the grid in temperatures of 86 degrees and actually led for half the first lap.
He held onto a strong fourth place for a while, dropping to sixth
However, on the final lap Aussie Arthur Sissis went all out to win the Championship and managed to fight his way back to an incredible fourth place, leaving Kyle fighting it out with French rider Alan Techer and Czech rider Tomas Vavrous, crossing the line with just 0.09 seconds splitting them all.
Kyle finished his final Moto GP Redbull Rookies race of the season in a well-deserved seventh; Kyle’s best ever result in this world class series.
Youngster Kyle Ryde finished in 19th place overall in the Championship, out of twenty-five riders with a total of 43 points and has been informed by the Moto GP Redbull Rookie Team that his place in next year’s series is secure.
