Batman veteran Robinson turns into Superman!

For Robinson turned out for two teams in one night and played a total of seven matches!

Firstly, as captain of Ravenshead Rhinos, he led his team to a 7-3 victory over Ravenshead Rebels that took them to the top of the Second Division table after a successful start to the new season of two wins and one draw. Robinson himself won two of this three games and also took a doubles leg alongside Graham Smith.

In between his matches for Rhinos, however, Robinson was also asked to play for First Division side Ravenshead Terminetters, and he duly won two of his three singles for them too, helping them bag a 5-5 draw against Jacksdale B.

The only thing Robinson didn’t achieve on the night was a player-of-the-match accolade! For Rhinos, that went to Steve Scott after winning all three of his singles contests, and for Terminetters, it went to Glen Cutmore, who pulled off a similar hat-trick to maintain his 100% record for the campaign.

Elsewhere in the top flight, defending champions Zygabyte A made their opening appearance of the season, and duly demolished Snipers of St Joseph’s A 10-0. Three wins were recorded by captain Joe Zygadlo, new signing Martin Dean and player-of-the-match Bob Hume. The only resistance offered by Snipers came from Tony Swain, who took a game off both Zygadlo and Dean.

Other Second Division results saw Ravenshead Marksmen A beat Jacksdale C 8-2, Snipers of St Joseph’s B defeat Hucknall 50-Plus 6-4 and Zygabyte Spin Doctors overcome Ravensdale 7-3. Maintaining their 100% records with player-of-the-match performances were Mark Sansom, for Marksmen A, Rob Vaughan, for Snipers B, and Jack Kirkland, for Spin Doctors.
