Ashfield’s Ollie Hynd secures bronze medal in S8 100 Backstroke final at London 2012 Paralympics

Ashfield swimmer Ollie Hynd is celebrating his his second Paralympic medal after he claimed bronze in tonight’s S8 100m Backstroke final.

Hynd came home in a time of 1:08.35 to finish behind the Russian duo of Konstantin Lisenkov and Denis Tarasov at the London Aquatics Centre.

The superb swim adds to his earlier silver medal, which he picked up in the 400m Freestyle on Friday.

Speaking after the race Ollie said he was happy with a bronze but was disappointed that he did not go faster.
