Angels are on top of the tree for Christmas in the Mansfield Table Tennis League. Ravenshead Angels, to be exact, after a 6-4 victory over River Maun took them seven points clear in Division Two.

They have been the main force in the division all season so far, recording six wins from seven matches, although second-placed Snipers of St Josephs, who beat Jacksdale D 9-1, have a game in hand. Other results in the final round of matches before the festive break saw Hucknall 50-Plus whitewash Ravenshead Rebels 10-0 and Boothys Ravens defeat Spin Doctors 8-2.

In Division One, Zygabyte A continue to run away with things. A 10-0 trouncing of Boothys sent them 11 points clear and extended their 100% record to seven matches. Jacksdale B sit second after hammering local rivals, Jacksdale C 9-1, while Ravenshead Riots sit third after a 6-4 victory over Zygabyte B.

It’s been a baptism of fire for the two teams who were promoted from the Second Division last term, with Ravenshead Rhinos, who crashed 10-0 to Jacksdale A, and Boothys occupying the bottom two places.
