AFC Mansfield beat league leaders AFC Emley with three goals in the final 20 minutes after the visitors had gone in front in the first five minutes.
‘The Bulls’ had caretaker manager Jason Truscott, in charge with U21 assistant manager Andy Wilson and first team coach Graeme Rodger, by his side.
Truscott had the worst possible start when, after just five minutes the ball, dropped in front of Max Leonard 20 yards out.
The midfielder hit the ball immediately and it curled and dipped on its way past Gavin Saxby into the goal.
The home side should have been back in it on nine minutes when Joe Naylor squared the ball to Rick who fluffed his lines four yards out.
It was Joe Naylor who had the next chance two minutes later when he fired narrowly wide.
Carl Haslam blew an even better chance in the 19th minute when AFC were awarded a penalty for handball.
Carl Haslam fired it down the middle with keeper Adam Lawlor saving with his feet before Haslam blasted the loose ball over the bar.
Ruben Jerome sliced a good chance wide of the mark on 27 minutes in a momentary lapse from the AFC Mansfield defence.
The final chance of the half fell to Carl Haslam, but it was a rather tame effort from the edge of the box straight at Lawlor.
Ruben Jerome should have doubled the visitors lead after the restart when he fired over from three yards out.
The home side picked up the pace and Danny Tighe hit the bar with a 25 yard free-kick and Phil Buxton saw his effort turned over by Lawlor after great work from Rick on the hour mark.
Buxton turned provider on 65 minutes delivering a great cross from the left for Rick to head wide from seven yards.
The equaliser came on 70 minutes with a superb throughball from Joe Naylor finding Haslam on the left. Haslam drifted past a defender before pulling the ball across the six yard box for Dean Rick to finish.
AFC Mansfield were awarded a soft penalty on 76 minutes when Lawlor was ruled to have fouled Rick beat him to the ball
This time Danny Tighe took the spot kick and made no mistake sending Lawlor the wrong way to put ‘The Bulls’ in front.
Young substitute George Camps scuffed his effort on 80 minutes and Haslam hit the side netting on 85 minutes as the home side dominated the game.
Carl Haslam sealed the win on 88 minutes when he went around the keeper twice in the box before firing past two players on the line to make it 3-1.
‘The Bulls’ now have a 10 day break while they continue their search for a new manager, but are comfortable in the knowledge that they have a good trio of Jason Truscott, Andy Wilson and Graeme Rodger in place to continue if necessary.
