Ripley Town defeat Shirebrook Rangers 3-1

Ripley Town returned to winning ways on Saturday after they beat Shirebrook Rangers 3-1.

Town got off to a flyer and took the lead after just two mins when Dan Storer crossed from the left and Lewis Parkin stooped to head home.

Three minutes later it was 2-0 when Oli pochciol smashed a 30 yarder past the visiting keeper.

But, rather than collapse, Shirebrook rallied and pulled a goal back .

Although Town always held the edge in this game they had to wait until the 88th minute to secure the points when skipper Ian Randall’s fine header was helped in at the far post by Sam bond.

Craig riley fired over late on after running the full length of the field to collect a great cross from Pochciol.

Town also gave a second-half debut to local 17 year-old Tom Cotton, who impressed as Ripley gained three welcome points.
