Notts County have appointed Mark Ablitt on to the board of directors at Meadow Lane, having previously joined as an Associate Director.
Mr Ablitt signed up as an Associate Director along with his wife Lina in September of last year, investing in the club that he has supported his whole life.
He has now taken the further step of becoming a fully-fledged Director and will join Chairman Ray Trew, Director Aileen Trew and Chief Executive Jim Rodwell on the Board.
Speaking of his new role Mr Ablitt said: “To be asked to join the Board of Directors at the club that you have supported all of your life is probably the dream of every football fan and I am delighted to be in a position to accept that invitation.
“To be able to contribute to the running of Notts County and to hopefully help move the club forwards is all I have ever wanted really, since watching games as a child and then being able to support the club commercially, this is the next step for me and one that I am looking forward to taking.”
Notts County Chairman Ray Trew added: “We are delighted to welcome Mark on to the Board of Directors here at Meadow Lane. As a successful businessman in his own right and, perhaps equally importantly, as a fan of the club, he has everything we could ask for in a Director.
“Mark’s commitment to the club is unquestionable and to have added his drive and enthusiasm, coupled with his financial backing obviously, is a fantastic step forwards for Notts County Football Club.”
