Scotland international Alan Hutton has joined Nottingham Forest on an emergency loan from Aston Villa.
The 27 year-old is committed to The Reds until 2nd January and will be available for nine games.
His arrival boosts the defensive resources available to manager O’Driscoll and he will be in the squad for Saturday’s trip to Wolves (kick-off 3pm).
Chairman Omar Al Hasawi said: “Like most of the signings we have made, Alan brings great experience to our squad.
“He has played at the very highest level and will be a big asset to us over the next six weeks.”
Hutton, a right-back, launched his career with his home town club Glasgow Rangers, winning a host of honours and playing in the Champions League.
He joined Tottenham in 2008 for a fee reported to be in the region of £9million.
He made more than 50 league appearances for Spurs and also had a loan spell with Sunderland before joining Villa in August of last year.
Hutton has made 31 league appearances for Villa but has not figured for them this term. He has been capped 28 times by Scotland.
