THREE soft goals proved costly as Lee Tryner’s men suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Dinnington Town in the club’s first ever NCEL game.
Ant Lynam gave the visitors the lead on 31 minutes after beating goalkeeper Liam Kerry to a cross.
Clipstone should have levelled when Danny House wasted a good chance.
A poor goal kick by Kerry proved costly as ace marksman Lynam was allowed to run clear and finish in style.
The second half was only two minutes long when Clipstone scored their first ever NCEL goal with Matt Austin scoring with a 30 yard piledriver.
But more sloppy defending was punished by Dinningtonwho made it 3-1 on 66 minutes to seal the win.
