Coronation’s hopes of being crowned Midland Amateur Alliance champions given boost

REIGNING Midland Amateur Alliance Premier Division Champions Coronation enhanced their chances of retaining the title after fighting back from two goals down to snatch a 3-2 victory at the expense of second placed Old Elizabethans.

With goals from Mike Bollington and Calum Wilkinson at either side of half time, O.E.s looked set for victory until Jake Goulding’s cross found the top corner of the O.E.’s net before Matt Bottomore netted the equaliser and James Whitmore secured victory with a late winner.

Woodborough United climbed a place to third in the table by defeating Sherwood Colliery 4-1 with Gareth Cutis netting Colliery’s consolation goal.

Beeston OBA now trail their opponents, Steelers, by three points at the bottom of the table after Gary Sonnenthal’s solitary goal proved sufficient to earn the points for Steelers.
