ALFRETON Town season ticket holder Clive Bull had a memorable time at the club at a recent training session.
The ardent Reds fan, 57, from Cressy Road in the town, was invited to the Impact Arena to meet up with the players and staff after recovering from spending five months in Chesterfield Royal hospital due to a critical illness.
Clive’s sister Carolyn said: “He went into hospital for a routine operation last September but then had major complications and was in intensive care for weeks.
“At one stage Clive was that ill it looked as though he might not make it. He spent Christmas and the New Year in hospital and eventually came home in February having gone in last September.”
“Clive had a lovely letter from the club and a signed photograph of the players at Christmas time wishing him all the best.
“The players also invited him to come and meet them all once he was fully recovered .
“It was a lovely gesture from the club and Clive was thrilled to bits at their efforts and to be able to meet chairman Wayne Bradley, the players and manager Nicky Law.”
Clive, who has been
following Alfreton since their Northern Premier League days, also had his picture taken with his favourite player, striker Paul Clayton.
