Alfreton Town cancel contract of winger Russell
Alfreton Town Football Club have cancelled the contract and registration of winger Simon Russell by mutual consent and he is now a free agent.
An experienced midfield player who can play down either flank, 27-year-old Simon joined the Reds on a one-year contract on July 13, 2012, but he has been unable to claim a regular starting shirt, making just 15 Blue Square Bet Premier Division appearances for Nicky Law’s side, six of those from the bench.
He began his career at Hull City, and has also seen action at Kidderminster Harriers, York City, Tamworth, Cambridge United and Lincoln City prior to the Reds.
The club thank Simon for his efforts and wish him all the very best for the future.
