Grimsby Town are the visitors for Alfreton Town’s penultimate Skrill Premier Division fixture at the Impact Arena and the match will be played out live before the BT Sport TV cameras.
The Reds’ play-off hopes were all but ended by two late Woking goals on Saturday, which leaves them both six points shy of the top five with only nine to play for but also without a win in five games.
Their bid to end what should still be considered an impressive campaign on a positive note is unlikely to be an easy one with the Mariners currently battling to maintain their place in those coveted top five positions.
Grimsby themselves have seen their form tail off slightly of late, with two defeats in their last three games, most recently falling victim to in-form Halifax with a 1-0 home defeat on Tuesday evening.
The history books are also stacked against the Reds given that they are yet to take a single point off Grimsby in five games and went down 3-1 at Blundell Park was back in August.
Alfreton do still have plenty to play for albeit probably not the grand prize of a play-off place, with a win on Saturday likely to assure them a top half finish and with it their highest ever league position.
Once again Alfreton manager will be short of both John McGrath and Michael Wylde, whilst Nick Fenton is also a doubt with a hamstring problem which forced him out of the game at Woking last weekend.
