MANSFIELD TOWN have confirmed that the Ian Greaves Stand is in use, as normal, for tomorrow’s home match against Woking.
Safety issues raised by Nottinghamshire County Council have now been resolved following a meeting this afternoon.
The concerns centred around the ‘structural integrity’ of the West Stand following recent improvements to the stand.
The Stags’ Operations Director Paul Broughton said: “The safety of our supporters is always our main priority.
“We pride ourselves in maintaining a safe environment for our supporters and visitors and take these responsibilities very seriously.
“The stand will be open as normal,” he added.
Rob Fisher, Group Manager responsible for emergency planning at the County Council said: “We have pulled out all the stops to make sure the stand is safe for tomorrow’s home game and the club has been cooperative with providing us with the necessary information at today’s meeting.
“However, we gave the club ample opportunity to satisfy the safety requirements and it is disappointing that it has left these safety concerns unresolved until this late stage.
“We will be monitoring the building works on the stand to make sure the safety of spectators is not put at risk.”
