MANSFIELD Town had two goals disallowed and two other efforts kicked off the line as they brought home a decent point Darlington’s plush Northern Echo Arena on Tuesday night in a goalless game in which they might have taken all three, reports John Lomas.
Despite losing skipper Adam Murray in the opening exchanges, Stags were the better side in the first half and were unlucky as Steve Foster, back at the club where he was captain, had a goal disallowed and another shot blocked on the line against an unimpressive Quakers side.
But the visitors did have keeper Neil Collett to thank for a superb save to keep out Liam Hatch in a one-on-one.
Darlington did up the ante after the break and enjoyed more possession.
But it was the visitors who had the best moments as Paul Connor’s effort was ruled out for offside and Kevin Sandwith saw a header kicked off the line.
