MANSFIELD Town afternoon today announced the signing of experienced former Bradford City midfielder Jon Worthington on a one year contract.
The 28-year-old who has amassed over 300 career appearances, started football life at Huddersfield Town - the team he captained for four seasons - before leaving for Oldham in 2009.
Loan spells at Fleetwood and Bradford ensued, before signing permanently for the Bantams in January this year.
After penning his new deal, Jon told www.mansfieldtown.net: “I’m delighted to have signed.
“I came and met the manager and was pleased to hear about his ambitions for the club.
“As a midfielder, I can get box to box or act as the ‘sitting player.’ I like to get ‘a foot in’ and work hard for the team and be an important cog in the side.”
