ALTHOUGH there are no certainties in football, Mansfield Town know they are expected to cruise past Chasetown in tomorrow night’s FA Trophy quarter-final replay at Field Mill (7.45pm) to set up an attractive two-legged semi-final showdown with Luton Town.
Only a last minute mistake by keeper David Grof allowed Chasetown a 2-2 draw in the first meeting in the West Midlands last week.
On Saturday Stags then eased to a 2-0 win at Tamworth while Chasetown earned a 4-2 away win at Ossett Town in the Evo-Stick Premier League.
But Mansfield boss Duncan Russell warned: “Tomorrow is all about the players being right and getting the job done.
“We will still have to earn the right, but if we play anything like we played at Tamworth I don’t think we will have too many problems.
“You have to give Chasetown some respect as they have players who can score goals. But we have a good buzz in the camp here and it was good to get a first clean sheet in a long time on Saturday.”
Although Louis Moult is having treatment on a niggling back injury today, Stags are expected to be unchanged tomorrow.
Victory would see the first semi-final leg played at Field Mill this Sunday at noon.
