STAGS boss Paul Cox is hoping to announce who his assistant manager will be by the end of the week.
But it won’t be his former Eastwood Town assistant Richard Cooper who has decided not to leave his secure day job of several years.
Cox worked until late on Monday, speaking to three candidates and said: “I hope to make an announcement by the weekend. This is probably more important than signing players for the club as we will be the ones steering the ship.”
Cox also said he would be bringing in a player-coach with the right experience and qualifications to help them on the traning ground.
Former player/assistant-manager Paul Hall and fitness coach Steve Bonington have been told they won’t be offered new contracts as Cox builds his own backroom team.
