OPPOSITION VIEW: Stags’ opponents to check on goalkeeper’s fitness

Wycombe Wanderers, who visit Mansfield this weekend, are sweating on the fitness of ‘keeper Matt Ingram.

Ingram missed the 1-1 draw with Carlisle last Saturday with a minor thigh problem and Alex Lynch will continue to deputise in goal should he be deemed unfit to play against Adam Murray’s men.

Boss Ainsworth says that Ingram will be assesed by the club’s medical team before the One Call Stadium clash.

“Whether or not he plays will again be on the advice of the medical team as it always is,” said Ainsworth.

“It was only a tweak that ruled him out of the game on Saturday but we must not make it worse.

“If it does become worse he could be out for three or four weeks instead of just a short time and with a squad of our size we cannot take risks.

“I have a fantastic medical team and trust their opinion.”

The result at Carlisle was only thanks to a 90th-minute equaliser from Paul Hayes - and stopped a four-match losing streak for the Chairboys.

Kick-off on Saturday is 3pm.
